DESCRIPTION:\nResearch in Motion Series is co-hosted by the Center for Algo
 rithms\, Data\, and Market Design at Yale (CADMY) and the Yale Institute f
 or Foundations of Data Science (FDS).\n\n\n\nAbstract: We will discuss top
 ics in the area of market algorithms together with their impactful applica
 tions\, including auctions\, autobidding\, online allocations\, and more r
 ecent connections to AI.&nbsp\; More broadly\, with these examples\, I hop
 e to convey the special and distinctive&nbsp\;nature of research in indust
 ry in&nbsp\;this area\, with the interplay between the insights and depth 
 of theory and the real-world requirements of practice\, with each side inf
 orming and driving the&nbsp\;other.\n\n\n\nSpeaker bio: Aranyak Mehta is a
  Distinguished Research Scientist in the Market Algorithms team at Google 
 Research\, Mountain View\, CA. His research interests are at the intersect
 ion of theoretical computer science and economics\, with focus on auctions
 \, online matching\, and allocation algorithms\, and their connections to 
 machine learning and AI. His work has contributed fundamental results to b
 oth the theoretical literature and the practice in these areas.\n
