 quium Series\, proudly supported by the&nbsp\;Department of Statistics and
  Data Science (S&amp\;DS)&nbsp\;and the&nbsp\;Yale Institute for Foundatio
 ns of Data Science (FDS). This series will feature inspiring talks from fe
 male Yale alumni and leading professionals in statistics and related field
 s who will share their career journeys and valuable insights. We encourage
  active participation—ask questions\, engage in discussions\, and take f
 ull advantage of this enriching opportunity. The series is dedicated to su
 pporting women in statistics and related fields at Yale\, providing a plat
 form where female professionals can share their experiences\, discuss chal
 lenges\, and offer guidance to our students.\n\n\n\nSpeaker Bio: Dr. Feng
  Liang is a Professor of Statistics at the University of Illinois at Urban
 a-Champaign (UIUC) and currently serves as the Interim Director for the Ac
 tuarial Science and Risk Management (ASRM) and Predictive Analytics and Ri
 sk Management (PARM) programs. She earned her bachelor's degree in Mathema
 tics from Peking University in 1997 and her Ph.D. in Statistics from Yale 
 University in 2002. Dr. Liang began her academic career at Duke University
  before joining UIUC in 2006. Her research interests include information t
 heory\, data mining\, and Bayesian methodologies. Throughout her career\, 
 she has been dedicated to advancing statistical science through research\,
  education\, and mentorship\, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.\
