DESCRIPTION:\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\nPlease join us for the FDS Women’s Care
 er Development Colloquium Series\, proudly supported by the Department of 
 Statistics and Data Science (S&amp\;DS) and the Yale Institute for Foundat
 ions of Data Science (FDS). This series will feature inspiring talks from 
 female Yale alumni and leading professionals in statistics and related fie
 lds who will share their career journeys and valuable insights. We encoura
 ge active participation—ask questions\, engage in discussions\, and take
  full advantage of this enriching opportunity. The series is dedicated to 
 supporting women in statistics and related fields at Yale\, providing a pl
 atform where female professionals can share their experiences\, discuss ch
 allenges\, and offer guidance to our students.\n\n\n\nBio: Anne Bauer is a
 n Executive Director of Data Science at The New York Times\, where she lea
 ds the Algorithmic Targeting team\, a cross-functional team that develops\
 , deploys\, and tests machine learning models to promote subscription and 
 retention.  Previously\, she led the Algorithmic Recommendations team\, a
 n applied machine learning team focused on content recommendations across 
 the NYT's products.  As part of the data science group\, she has built mo
 dels and data products to interpret and act on the company's data with a v
 ariety of groups including marketing\, print circulation\, and the newsroo
 m.  Before becoming a data scientist she was an astrophysics and cosmolog
 y postdoc in Barcelona and Munich\, received her Ph.D. in physics from Yal
 e\, and her B.A. in physics and computer science from Amherst College.\n\n
