SUMMARY:FDS Workshop: AI for Scientific Discovery
DESCRIPTION:\nRecent advances in generative AI are reshaping how we design 
 and discover mathematical and scientific artifacts. Problems in mathematic
 s\, engineering\, and the sciences have recently been solved by systems th
 at use LLMs to evolve search and optimization algorithms. If you can speci
 fy what you are looking for\, they can help you find it.\n\n\n\nConcretely
 \, LLM-guided evolution can help find abstract objects representable in a 
 computer — vectors\, matrices\, networks\, programs\, or collections the
 reof. It must be possible to write code that reports whether an object mee
 ts the desired requirements. Often\, LLMs can write this code for us.\n\n\
 n\nThis workshop gives researchers a concentrated\, hands-on introduction 
 to these tools\, focused on&nbsp\;ShinkaEvolve\, an open-source framework 
 available for participants to continue using after the workshop.\n\n\n\nTh
 e event is free provided you register and show up. A $100 charge will be l
 evied on people who do not show up. $1 will be collected in advance as a h
