Zongming Ma is a professor in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Yale University. With interest in both statistical theory and practice, he currently focuses on developing new theories and methodologies for multi-modal and network data analyses and on designing new integration and analysis pipelines for spatial and single-cell data. He received his B.S. in Mathematics from Peking University and his Ph.D. in Statistics from Stanford University.
What do you do with data science?
My current research touches both the theory and application of data science, with a focus on data integration. On the theory side, I aim to understand the fundamental limits of dataset and graph matching and to design efficient algorithms for these and related tasks. On the application side, my current focus is on designing pipelines for data integration in spatial and single-cell multi-omics settings.
