Eligibility
To apply to the Peter Salovey and Marta Moret Data Science Fellows Program, students should be in the early stages of a Yale PhD program (typically the first or second year) through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. A full list of GSAS programs of study can be found here: https://gsas.yale.edu/programs-of-study
Application Process
The application requires:
- A current CV, an unofficial Yale transcript (current students can access their unofficial transcripts through Yale Hub), and a personal statement (maximum one page) describing what the student hopes to achieve and contribute as a participant in the program.
- A mentor recommendation form to be completed and submitted by a Yale faculty mentor/advisor. There is no option to upload a separate letter. The advisor may also nominate the student to be considered for stipend and tuition funding
- Optional. Students may identify a potential faculty co-mentor who complements the primary advisor’s area of expertise.
Applications open each March beginning March 2026. Selections are made by a University-wide steering committee and announced in June. Advisors of students selected to receive funding under their home PhD program will be notified at the time of acceptance.
