Arman Cohan is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Yale University. His research spans various problems at the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, including Language Modeling, Representation Learning, Generation, and their applications to specialized domains including science. Prior to joining Yale, he was a Research Scientist at Allen AI (AI2) and an Affiliate Assistant Professor at University of Washington.

What do you do with Data Science?

At Yale, I lead the Natural Language Processing lab. My research spans various problems at the intersection of NLP and Machine Learning, including language modeling, representation learning, retrieval, and applications in specialized domains. The following is a list of some of the problems that we are currently working on: Understanding generalization capabilities of Large Language Models; Evaluation and science of language models; Language modeling for complex document-level tasks and long sequences; Robust methods for generation and summarization and Scientific and scholarly document processing.
