Hattie Chung
Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine (Cardiology), Cardiovascular Research Center; Member of Yale Center for Research on Aging; Member of Program in Physics, Engineering, and Biology (PEB)
Dr. Chung is an Assistant Professor of Medicine. She received her PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard University and her BS in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a recipient of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship and an Emerging Leader in Biosecurity Fellowship. Her lab develops technologies to study tissue organization in health and disease, by measuring and analyzing high-dimensional molecular representations of biological processes. Outside of the lab, Hattie enjoys cooking all kinds of food and reading. She is a recovering classical pianist.
What do you do with Data Science?
We study the molecular basis of cellular heterogeneity and tissue organization in health and disease through the lens of systems biology by pioneering novel computational and experimental tools. Our goal is to use high-dimensional representations of biological processes to learn the rules that govern complex tissue function. Our applications span ovarian aging, cardiovascular aging, and therapeutics.
